Shuttling from city to city day in, day out,
Still; in my heart I hold you all day long.
As in your lush face I see joy mirrored,
Your tender caring touch I feel as I roam,
Augmenting my love deeper than the deepest sea,
Igniting my passion for you like the sparkling thunder;
As if we are together traveling around the world.
Though we are further apart like the west and the east,
And seemed like we would never meet again;
But, no matter how far or wide I roam,
To you I must return for to you I belong.
Poems Review And Usage
The poem; "In My Heart I HoldYou" is a heart-warming poem knitted in fine romantic words. It's a poem that expresses the feelings of the writer when distanced from someone he/she loves.Verse By Verse Review
The verse oneAs may be observed in the poem, the first verse of the poem is of higher importance as it gives the perfect introduction of the content of the poem thereby making known, the content of the poem even; while reading through the first verse. As in;- "I may have travelled wide and far though,..."
More so, it is the same verse that holds the title of the poem thus; "...in my heart I hold you..." that appears in the third line of the poem.
The verse two, in a cloud of figurative expressions tells the feelings of the writer when distanced from someone he/she loves as could be seen in;
- "...As in your lush face I see joy mirrored,..." ";;;Augmenting my love deeper than the deepest sea,..." "...Igniting my passion for you like the sparkling thunder;..."
It wouldn't be an exaggeration if the verse two is said to be the soul of the poem for it is within it the purpose of the poem is revealed.
The verse three or the climax of the poem concludes the poem and tells blankly, the promises of the poem.
As in the last two lines of the poem;
- "But, no matter how far or wide I roam, "To you I must return for to you I belong.
